Set these switches on the back of the new or serviceable APU controller to these positions:
(a)
MIN ECS switch - E
(b)
MAX ECS switch - E
(c)
DUCT PRESS - A
(d)
MES switch - D

CAUTION: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE APU CONTROLLER. A FAILURE TO DO THE STEPS CORRECTLY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

Install the APU controller (1). To install it, do this task: ESDS Metal Encased Units - Installation Handling (AMM 20-41-02/201).

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6-2 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6K18, APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Aft APU Equipment Control and Circuit Breaker Panel 1) APU PRIME CONT
(2)
Do this task: APU Ground Test (AMM 49-11-00/501).

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 overhead panel.

SERIAL NUMBER IDENTIFICATION UNIT - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
A removal of the serial number identification unit
(2)
An installation of the serial number identification unit
(3)
A calibration of the serial number identification unit.
B.
The serial number identification unit is installed on the bottom left aft side of the air inlet plenum.
C.
When a serial number identification unit is replaced on the APU, the new or different serviceable serial number identification unit must be calibrated to the serial number that shows on the engine reference data plate. The location of the engine reference data plate is at the left side of the APU load gearbox and below the left APU mount bracket.
