 CUTOFF POSITION CHECK:

 A. WITH START LEVER AT CUTOFF, CHECK THAT  GAP BETWEEN FUEL SHUTOFF LEVER AND SHUTOFF STOP IS 0.01 TO 0.05 INCH
 (0.25 TO 1.27 MM).

 IDLE POSITION CHECK:


 A. WITH START LEVER AT CUTOFF, MEASURE  DISTANCE BETWEEN TOP OF START CABLE LINK OR CLEVIS END (AS APPLICABLE) AND BOTTOM OF CABLE BRACKET (DIMENSION A).
B. MOVE START LEVER TO IDLE.
 C. MEASURE DISTANCE BETWEEN TOP OF LINK OR CLEVIS END (AS APPLICABLE) AND BOTTOM OF CABLE BRACKET AGAIN (DIMENSION B).
SEE A D. THE VALUE OF B-A MUST NOT BE LESS THAN
 1.35 INCHES (34.3 MM).
5.
 INSTALL AFT COVER ON FUEL CONTROL BOX USING  BOLTS AND WASHERS (2 PLACES).

6.
 CLOSE LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP).

FUEL NOZZLE LEAK CHECK
1.  EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS E. IF A STEADY STREAM OF FUEL IS LEAKING FROM
A.  CART, HYDRAULIC - 856A1084 SERVICED NOZZLE, REPLACE FUEL NOZZLE (REF 73-11-04). WITH FILTERED (10 MICRON) FUEL, REPEAT APPLICATION OF PRESSURE AND BORESCOPE CFM INTERNATIONAL, P.O. BOX 15514, INSPECTION TO ENSURE NO OTHER LEAKING FUEL CINCINNATI, OH 45215 NOZZLES.
B.  ADAPTER, FUEL MANIFOLD PRESSURE F. IF NO LEAKAGE IS EVIDENT AND PRESSURE DOES TEST - 856A2006, CFM INTERNATIONAL. NOT DROP WITHIN ONE MINUTE, SLOWLY INCREASE
C.  GAGE, PRESSURE (0-25 PSI [0-175 KPA] PRESSURE TO 10 PSI (69 KPA). BORESCOPE MINIMUM). INSPECT ALL FUEL NOZZLE COMBUSTOR DOME
D.  TEE FITTING, TO ATTACH CART AND GAGE AREAS FOR LEAKAGE.
TO ADAPTER.

NOTE: SLIGHT WETTING OF FUEL NOZZLE TIPS
2.  CHECK FUEL NOZZLES FOR LEAKAGE.
MAY OCCUR AT PRESSURE NEAR 10 PSI
A.  OPEN LEFT FAN DUCT COWL AND THRUST (69 KPA).
REVERSER HALF (REF 78-31-00 MP).
B.  REMOVE FUEL FLOW TRANSMITTER (1) IF A STEADY STREAM OF FUEL IS LEAKING (REF 73-31-01). FROM NOZZLE, REPLACE FUEL NOZZLE
C.  INSTALL FUEL PRESSURIZING EQUIPMENT (REF 73-11-04). (SHEET 2). G. REMOVE PRESSURE FROM FUEL NOZZLE SUPPLY
(1)  
ATTACH ADAPTER TO FUEL NOZZLE TUBE AND REMOVE HYDRAULIC CART, PRESSURE SUPPLY TUBE FLANGE USING FOUR GAGE, AND TEE FITTING. FUEL FLOW TRANSMITTER BOLTS AND H. INSTALL FUEL FLOW TRANSMITTER GASKET. (REF 73-31-01).

(2)  
INSTALL TEE FITTING ON ADAPTER I. CLOSE FAN DUCT COWL AND THRUST REVERSER HALF NIPPLE. (REF 78-31-00 MP).

(3)  
INSTALL PRESSURE GAGE AND HYDRAU-LIC CART ON TEE FITTING.


D.  
SLOWLY APPLY 5 PSI (34 KPA) PRESSURE
AND BORESCOPE INSPECT ALL FUEL NOZZLE
COMBUSTOR DOME AREAS FOR LEAKAGE
(REF 72-00-00 I/C).

 

____DO NOT EXCEED 18-20 PSI
NOTE:
(124-138 KPA) WHEN RAISING
PRESSURE, FUEL NOZZLES WILL OPEN
ALLOWING NORMAL FUEL SPRAY.
