Attach the latch to fan the cowl panel (Fig. 401).

(1)
Install the latch in the fan cowl panel with the bolt hole in the latch aligned with the hole in the mount.

Align the latch handle with the panel skin cutout.

Install the pivot bolt with the bolt head pointed forward.

(4)
Install the washer and slotted nut.
(a) Tighten the nut and then loosen the nut until the nut slot aligns with the cotter pin hole.

(5) Install the cotter pin.
(a) Bend the cotter pin ends around the flat sides of the nut.

(6) Apply sealant to the nut and end of the bolt approximately 0.06 inch
(1.5 mm) thick.

(7) Adjust the latch (AMM 71-11-03/501).
