1. EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS
A. PROTECTIVE MAT (2) - RUBBER MANUFACTURER'S ASSOC., GRADE SC43, NEOPRENE SPONGE, 1 INCH THICK, APPROX 3 X 4 FEET WITH WARNING STREAMERS ATTACHED
2. CHECK FAN BLADES FOR DAMAGE
A. CHECK THAT START LEVERS ARE IN CUTOFF POSITION. INSTALL DO-NOT-OPERATE IDENTIFIERS.
CAUTION FAILURE TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTON MAY ALLOW DAMAGE TO INNER SURFACE OF

B. INSTALL PROTECTIVE MATS IN LOWER HALF OF INLET COWL.
C. CHECK FAN BLADES FOR THE FOLLOWING:

FAN TIP SEIZURE IN ABRADABLE SHROUD
(2)
MID-SPAN SHROUD SHINGLING
_______TO AVOID POSSIBLE INJURY TO HANDS, GLOVES SHOULD BE WORN WHEN ROTATING FAN ROTOR
WARNING:
BY HAND.
____ SHINGLING IS DIFFICULT TO DETECT BY VIEWING FAN DIRECTLY FROM FRONT. TO PROPERLYNOTE:CHECK FOR SHINGLING, MID-SPAN SHROUD INTERFACES MUST BE VIEWED WHILE FAN ROTOR IS
ROTATED SLOWLY BY HAND IN NORMAL DIRECTION OF ROTATION.
