Manually hold the fan cowl panel and move it away from the engine centerline until you can release the hold-open rod from the receiver.
(c)
Retract the sleeve at the receiver end of the hold-open rod to disengage the rod from the receiver.
NOTE: The rod will extend and snap into its locked position.

(d) Engage the hold-open rod on the engine mounted receiver.
NOTE: The engine mounted receivers are found on the engine
____ flange D at the 3 o'clock position on the right fan case, and the 10 o'clock position on the left fan case.
(e) Make sure the UNLOCKED indication at the collar is not shown.

WARNING: DO NOT CLOSE THE FAN COWL PANEL DURING AN ENGINE OPERATION
_______ BECAUSE THE FORWARD LATCHES ARE IN THE HAZARD AREA ZONE OF THE ENGINE INLET. IF YOU GO INTO THE HAZARD AREA, YOU CAN GET PULLED INTO THE ENGINE WITH POSSIBLE FATAL RESULTS.
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CLOSE THE FAN COWL PANEL IN HIGH WINDS OR GUST CONDITIONS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
DO NOT USE THE HOLD-OPEN ROD TO HOLD THE FAN COWL IF THE WIND VELOCITY IS MORE THAN 60 KNOTS. THE HOLD-OPEN ROD CAN FALL AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: DO NOT CLOSE THE INBOARD FAN COWL PANEL UNLESS THE LEADING EDGE

FLAPS ARE DEACTIVATED IN THE RETRACTED POSITION.
IT IS NOT PERMITTED TO PUT THE FAN COWL PANELS IN THE NOT FULLY CLOSED POSITION SPECIALLY DURING ENGINE GROUND TESTS. FAILURE OR DAMAGE TO THE HOLD OPEN ROD ON THE LEFT FAN COWL CAN OCCUR BECAUSE OF INTERFERENCE WITH THE ACCESSORY GEARBOX.

Manually hold the fan cowl panel and retract the sleeve at the receiver end of the hold-open rod to disengage the rod from the engine mounted receiver.

Turn and move the collar in the direction shown to release the hold-open rod from its extended position.

Engage the latch at the forward edge of the fan cowl panel and push the latch handle closed.
