C.  REMOVE PNEUMATIC POWER (36-05-00 MP).

IF DIFFERENCE IN DUCT PRESSURE INDICATION BETWEEN LEFT AND RIGHT DUCTS EXCEEDED 5 PSI DURING START ATTEMPT, REPLACE ISOLATION VALVE (36-11-25).

3.  
CONTINUE WITH APPROPRIATE TROUBLE SHOOTING, DEPENDING OR AIR SOURCE, AS FOLLOWS:


APU - REFER TO 49-00-00 TS
ENGINE (CROSS-START) - REFER TO 36-11-05 TS
GROUND - REPLACE AIR SOURCE

PERFORM IGNITION SYSTEM AUDIBLE CHECK
_______CHECK OF IGNITION SYSTEM MUST NOT BE PERFORMED WHEN AIRPLANE IS IN HANGAR, NEAR BUILDINGS
WARNING: AND/OR OTHER AIRPLANES THAT ARE WITHIN THE EXHAUST HAZARD AREA FOR LOW IDLE (REF 71-00-00 MP), OR DURING AIRPLANE FUELING. ENSURE THAT NO PERSONNEL ARE WITHIN THE INLET AND EXHAUST HAZARD AREAS FOR LOW IDLE (REF 71-00-00 MP) OF APPLICABLE ENGINE DURING IGNITION SYSTEM CHECK.
IGNITION VOLTAGE IS DEADLY. DO NOT TOUCH IGNITER PLUGS OR ANY EXPOSED OR LIVE PORTION OF IGNITION EXCITER OR LEADS DURING OPERATION.
_______PRIOR TO PERFORMING IGNITION SYSTEM CHECK, DRY MOTOR ENGINE TO REMOVE UNBURNED FUEL
CAUTION: (REF 71-00-00 MP). UNBURNED FUEL COULD RESULT IN ENGINE INTERNAL OR EXHAUST FIRE. DO NOT PERFORM IGNITION SYSTEM CHECK IF N2 IS ROTATING. WITH N2 ROTATION, FUEL ENTRY INTO COMBUSTION CHAMBER IS POSSIBLE WHEN START LEVER IS ADVANCED TO IDLE AND INADVERTENT LIGHTUP DURING IGNITION SYSTEM CHECK COULD RESULT.
1.
OPEN LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP).

2.
DISCONNECT START VALVE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR (D424).

3.
PROVIDE ELECTRICAL POWER (24-22-00 MP).

4.
CLOSE APPLICABLE ENG L IGN, ENG R IGN, AND ENG START VALVE CIRCUIT BREAKERS.

5.
POSITION ENGINE START (IGNITER SELECTOR) SWITCH TO SELECT IGNITER PLUG TO BE CHECKED.

6.
PLACE APPLICABLE ENGINE START SWITCH IN GRD POSITION.

7.
PLACE APPLICABLE START LEVER IN IDLE POSITION.

8.
LISTEN FOR AUDIBLE SNAPPING NOISE IN VICINITY OF IGNITER PLUG TO VERIFY OPERATION.

9.
POSITION START LEVER TO CUTOFF.

10.
POSITION START SWITCH TO OFF.

11.
REMOVE ELECTRICAL POWER (24-22-00 MP).

12.
CONNECT START VALVE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR (D424).

13.
CLOSE LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP).

OIL TEMPERATURE CHECK
1. EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS
A.  THERMOMETER - AMPROBE FASTEMP, XT-120C, OMEGA ENGINEERING, INC., ONE OMEGA DRIVE, BOX 4047, STAMFORD, CT 06907
2.  CHECK OIL TEMPERATURE
A. OPEN LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP).
B. ATTACH THERMOMETER PROBE TO "OIL OUT" TUBE OF SCAVENGE OIL FILTER (CLOSE TO TEMPERATURE BULB).
____ALLOW ENGINE OIL TO COOL TO BELOW 120`C TO BE WITHIN RANGE OF THERMOMETER.
NOTE:
C.  RECORD THERMOMETER READING AND COMPARE WITH OIL TEMPERATURE INDICATOR READING.
D.  CLOSE LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP).
