A. This procedure has one task to examine the fan cowl panels for the items that follow:
-damage or delamination of the aluminum foil on the inner surfaces of the panels
-wear of the hinges and hold-open rods.

This procedure examines the fan cowl panels for damage or delamination of the aluminum foil on the inner surfaces of the panels, and wear of the hinges and hold-open rods.

Open the applicable fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Examine the aluminum foil on the inner surfaces of the panel for damage or delamination.
(a) If you find damage or delamination, refer to the SRM 51-70-05 and SRM 51-70-14 for the repair procedure.
(3)
Examine the hinges of the fan cowl panel for signs of wear.

If it is necessary, do the steps that follow to measure the wear of the hinge components (Fig. 601).
(a)
Remove the bolt, washer and nut from the hinge.
(b)
Measure the hinge components for wear (Fig. 601).
