_______ POSITION BEFORE YOU DEACTIVATE THE STANDBY HYDRAULIC PUMP. IF THE STANDBY HYDRAULIC PUMP IS NOT DEACTIVATED WHEN THE "ALTERNATE FLAPS" SWITCH IS IN THE "ARM" POSITION, THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS CAN EXTEND AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (c)  
Put the ALTERNATE FLAPS switch on the pilots' overhead panel P5 to the ARM position.

 (d)  
Open this circuit breaker and install a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:

 1)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 a) 6D12 FLAP


 (e)  
Put the ALTERNATE FLAPS switch back to the OFF position.

 (f)  
Make sure the override lever on the trailing edge bypass valve, found on the aft bulkhead of the right main landing gear wheel well, is in the No. 2 position. 1) If the override lever is not in the No. 2 position,


 manually move the lever to the No. 2 position.

(2)  S 024-064-C00If you replace the inboard fan cowl panel, first remove the VCD (AMM 71-11-08/401).
 (3)  S 024-013-C00Remove the forward fairing (AMM 54-32-01/401).
 (4)  S 494-014-C00Attach the engine strut attach fittings to the forward strut mount fittings.
 (5)  S 494-015-C00Attach the boom assembly to the strut attach fittings.
 (6)  S 494-016-C00Attach the fishpole hoist to the trolley on the boom and attach the fan cowl sling to the fishpole hoist cable.
 (7)  S 014-017-C00Open the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).
 (8)  S 494-018-C00Lower the fan cowl sling and attach it to the fan cowl panel.
 (9)  S 494-019-C00Pull the fishpole hoist cable tight.

 Clean the sealant (if applied) from the fan cowl hinge nuts.

 Make sure the forward center and aft hinges are aligned and the fan cowl hinge hangers will engage the roll pins when you remove the nuts and bolts from the hinges.

 Remove the nuts, washers, and bolts that attach the forward and aft fan cowl hinge fittings to the cowl support beam hinge fittings.

 Remove the nuts, washers, and bolts that attach the two middle fan cowl hinge fittings to the cowl support beam hinge fittings.

 WARNING:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE FAN COWL PANELS. BECAUSE THE FAN COWL PANELS ARE HEAVY, INJURIES TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR. THE RIGHT FAN COWL PANEL WEIGHS 110 POUNDS (50 KG) AND THE LEFT FAN COWL PANEL WEIGHS 90 POUNDS (40 KG).
 (14)
 Disengage the hold-open rod and turn the cowl panel until the cowl hinge hangars disengage from the roll pins.

 Lower the fan cowl panel on an applicable surface and remove the fan cowl sling.

 Move the fan cowl panel away from the work area.

 (1)  
The BMS 5-95 sealant is necessary only if the outboard fan cowl panel is replaced and protruding head screws are installed in the fan cowl panel fastener holes.
