ONE-HALF INCH (12.7 MM) CLEARANCE BETWEEN HYDRAULIC HOSE SUPPORT BRACKET AND INLET COWL ATTACHMENT FLANGE AT 6:30 O'CLOCK POSITION. LIMITS APPLY TO LEFT SIDEWAYS AND DOWNWARD MOVEMENT FOR FIRST 6 INCHES (152 MM) OF FORWARD TRAVEL FROM THE ENGINE INLET ATTACHMENT FLANGE.


 (4) Attach the inlet cowl to the engine flange as follows (Fig. 405):

(a)  At all but the 12 o'clock bolt hole positions, install the bolts, washers, and nuts (23 locations each).
 NOTE:____ The bolts are installed with the bolt head pointed aft and the washer installed between the nut and inlet cowl attachment flange.
 (b)  1) Tighten the nuts to 220-410 pound-inches (25-46 newton meters).At the 12 o'clock position, install the bolt and washer with the countersunk end of the washer pointed to the bolt head.
 NOTE:____ The nut at the 12 o'clock position is permanently attached to the engine inlet attachment flange.
 (5)  S 094-068-C00Remove the engine cowling strap, lower the dolly and remove the dolly from under the inlet cowl.
 (6)  S 034-075-C00Remove the caps from the TAI duct, pressure switch tube, and electrical connections for the temperature switch.
 (7)  S 034-076-C00Remove the caps from the aft face of the inlet cowl lip and at the duct opening aft of the engine inlet atachment flange.
 (8)  S 434-077-C00Install the TAI duct as follows (Fig. 403):
 CAUTION:_______ DO NOT PUT HEAVY OBJECTS ON THE SEALS. EASILY DAMAGED. THE SEALS ARE
 (a) (b)  Make sure the flange sealing surfaces and seals are free of scratches, cuts, pits, creases, and unwanted material.Put the seals between the flanges.
 NOTE:____ The Seals are made out-of-round to snap-fit into the male flanges.

(c)  
Install the TAI duct and, without the use of force, align the flanges with a maximum clearance of 0.03 inch (0.76 mm) at all points.

 (d)  
If the clearance is more than 0.03 inches (0.76 mm) or the installation of the duct is not easy, do these steps: 1) Remove the bolts, washers and nuts that attach the TAI


 valve/duct mounting flange to the engine flange brackets.
 2)  Add or remove the washers between mounting flange and brackets, to decrease the clearance or to permit the installation of the duct.
 3)  Install the bolt, washer, and nut at each attach point.
 (e)  
Install the coupling around the flanges.

 1)  Tighten the coupling to 70-85 pound-inches (7.9-9.6 newton meters).

 (f)  
Connect the pressure switch sensing line to the TAI duct.

 (g)  
Connect the electrical connector to the temperature switch.

 (9)  Install the T2 temperature sensor on the inlet cowl as follows (Fig. 402):
 (a)  
Remove the T2 sensor from the engine mounted support bracket.

 (b)  
Install the sensor in the inlet cowl recess and attach it with the bolts (4 locations). 1) Tighten the bolts to 55 to 70 inch pounds (6 to 8 Nm).

 (c)  
Attach the clamps to the inlet cowl bracket and engine flange bracket.

 (10) Install the T12 temperature sensor on the inlet cowl as follows (Fig. 401):
 (a)  
Remove the T12 sensor from the engine mounted support bracket.

 (b)  
Align the flange on the sensor and install the sensor in the inlet cowl recess.

 (c)  
Use the four bolts and four washers to connect the sensor to the inlet cowl. 1) Tighten the bolts to 55 to 70 inch pounds (6 to 8 Nm).
