 A. Equipment
 (1)  Boom Assembly - C71002-2, "A" Frame - C71002-78, and Tube Assembly -C71002-83
 NOTE: Boom assembly (C71002-2), "A" frame (C71002-78), and tube
____ assembly (C71002-83) are part of Thrust Reverser and Cowling Handling Equipment (C71002).
 On earlier equipment assemblies, tube assembly (C71002-83) was part of the "A" frame (C71002-78).
 (2)  Engine Strut Attach Fittings - C71003-2 and -3, and Attach Pin Assembly - C71003-104
 NOTE: Engine strut attach fittings (C71003-2 and -3) and attach pin

E. Procedure
 S 964-090-C00
 (1)  Replace the rubstrip by removing the peel ply and using adhesive BMS 5-109 while equally installing the rubstrips on the inlet chord extrusion. (Fig. 405A)
 NOTE: If rubstrips are located between the inlet aft chord and the
____ strut fairing, they need to be inspected before the inlet cowl is installed. (AMM 71-11-01/601)

 (2)  
Install the engine strut attach fittings, boom and tube assembly, "A" frame, fishpole hoist, and inlet cowl sling.

 (3)  
Prepare the inlet cowl installation equipment as follows (Fig. 404):

 (a)  
Attach the engine strut attach fittings to the forward strut mount fittings.

 (b)  
Attach the tube assembly to the boom.

 (c)  
Attach the fishpole hoist to the tube assembly trolley.


 CAUTION: ADJUST THE SLING TO HOLD ONLY THE WEIGHT OF THE INLET
_______ COWL. MORE FORCE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INLET COWL.
 (d)  
Attach the sling straps to inlet cowl attach points and adjust the sling to tighten the straps.

 (e)  
Make sure the sling straps are vertical.

Align the inlet cowl and attach the inlet cowl sling straps to the attach points on the inlet cowl (Fig. 404).

Make sure the shear pins at the 3:10 and 8:50 o'clock positions on the engine inlet attachment flange are correctly installed.
