1.  EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS A.PROTECTIVE MAT (2) - RUBBER MANUFACTURER'S ASSOC., GRADE SC43, NEOPRENE SPONGE, 1 INCH THICK, 
APPROX. 3 X 4 FEET WITH WARNING STREAMERS ATTACHED 
2.CHECK 1ST-STAGE STATOR VANES FOR DAMAGE
A. CHECK THAT START LEVERS ARE IN CUTOFF POSITION. INSTALL DO-NOT-OPERATE IDENTIFIERS. 
B. INSTALL PROTECTIVE MATS IN LOWER HALF OF INLET COWL. 
C. CHECK STATOR VANES FOR THE FOLLOWING: 
(1) 
BROKEN OR MISSING VANES
(2) 
CRACKS
(3) 
DISENGAGEMENT FROM INNER SHROUD
(4) 
DISTORTED LEADING OR TRAILING EDGES
(5) 
DENTS OR NICKS
(6) 
MISSING MATERIAL

CHECK SCAVENGE OIL FILTER CLOGGING INDICATOR GLASS INSPECTION BOWL FOR EXPOSED RED POP-UP INDICATOR.

IF RED POP-UP INDICATOR IS VISIBLE, TROUBLE SHOOT FOR OIL FILTER CLOG INDICATED (71-00-44, FIG. 107).
4.  
CLOSE LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP).
