FUEL FILTER CHECK CONTAMINATION IDENTIFICATION AND CORRECTIVE ACTION
CONTAMINANT CAUSE  CORRECTIVE ACTION 
3. 2. CLEAN THE TANKS IF IT IS NECESSARY (AMM 28-11-00/701). DO A CHECK OF THE FUEL FILTER ON THE OPPOSITE ENGINE. REMOVE ALL ACCESS PANELS (AMM 28-11-11/401). DO A CHECK ON THE TANKS. PURGE THE FUEL TANKS (AMM 28-10-00/201). REPLACE THE FUEL NOZZLE FILTER. ENGINES POST-CFMI-SB 73-134; 1. FLUSH THE FUEL LINES (AMM 28-22-00/701). 
BLACK SLUDGE OR SLIMY MATERIAL  FUNGUS GROWTH  REPLACE THE FUEL FILTER (AMM 73-11-02/401). 1. CLEAN THE FUEL TANKS (AMM 28-11-00/701). AFTER 24 HOURS IN SERVICE, DO A CHECK OF AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTER (AMM 73-11-02/401). AFTER 24 HOURS IN SERVICE, DO A CHECK OF AND DO A CHECK OF THE FUEL FILTER ON THE OPPOSITE ENGINE. ADD BIOBOR JF TO THE FUEL TANKS (AMM 28-10-00/201). REPLACE THE FUEL FILTER (AMM 73-11-02/401). ENGINES POST-CFMI-SB 73-134; 6. 5. REPLACE THE FUEL NOZZLE FILTER. 5. ENGINES PRE-CFMI-SB 73-134; 4. 3. 2. FLUSH THE FUEL LINES (AMM 28-22-00/701).

HEAT EXCHANGER, FUEL FLOW TRANSMITTER, AND REMOVE THE FUEL PUMP, MEC, SERVO FUEL HEATER,1) LIMITS, DO THE STEPS THAT FOLLOW: IF THE BORESCOPE RESULTS ARE IN THE SERVICEABLE IF THE BORESCOPE RESULTS ARE OUT OF THE SERVICEABLE A. CDP (AIR) TUBE CHECK
1. CHECK THAT START LEVERS ARE IN CUTOFF POSITION. INSTALL DO-NOT-OPERATE IDENTIFIERS.
2.  
OPEN FAN DUCT COWL AND THRUST REVERSER HALVES (78-31-00 MP).

3.  
CHECK CDP TUBING AND FITTINGS FOR DAMAGE OR LEAKAGE SOURCES AS FOLLOWS:


A.  CRACKS OR BREAKS
B.  LOOSE FITTINGS (OR CROSS-THREADED)
C.  WEAR
D.  COLLAPSED OR KINKED SECTIONS
4.  CHECK CDP TUBING FOR BLOCKAGE AS FOLLOWS:
A.  CHECK DRAIN HOLES IN BOTTOM OF TUBING FOR CLOGGING AND CLEAR WITH WIRE AS NECESSARY.
B.  DISCONNECT TUBING AT MEC AND LOOSEN CLAMPING DOWN TO STAINLESS STEEL BRAIDED SECTION TO ALLOW TUBE TO BE SEPARATED FROM MEC. FIT PROTECTIVE CAP TO MEC PORT.
C.  BLOW INTO OPEN TUBE END. AIR SHOULD FLOW FREELY INTO COMBUSTION CASE.
D.  IF NOT, APPLY 10 PSI (70 KPA) CLEAN, FILTERED AIR TO OPEN TUBE END TO CLEAR BLOCKAGE. IF INEFFECTIVE, REPLACE TUBING AS NECESSARY.
5.  CHECK CDP TUBING FOR LEAKS AS FOLLOWS:
A.  APPLY LEAK-TEK (SOAP SOLUTION) TO ALL FITTINGS.
B.  AT OPEN TUBE END (FROM STEP 4.), APPLY 100-150 PSI (700-1050 KPA) CLEAN, FILTERED AIR CONTINU-OUSLY AND EXAMINE TUBING AND FITTINGS CLOSELY FOR EVIDENCE OF LEAKS. IF FOUND, REPAIR/REPLACE TUBING/FITTINGS AS REQUIRED.
C.  IF NO LEAKS FOUND, RECONNECT TUBE TO MEC. TIGHTEN COUPLING NUT TO 135-150 POUND-INCHES (15.2-
17.0 N.M) AND LOCKWIRE. TIGHTEN CLAMPS.
6.  
APPLY LEAK-TEK (SOAP SOLUTION) TO FITTING AT MEC.

7.  
CLOSE FAN DUCT COWL AND THRUST REVERSER HALVES (78-31-00 MP), EXCEPT LEAVE FAN COWL PANELS OPEN.

8.  
PERFORM IDLE POWER LEAK CHECK (FAN COWL PANELS OPEN)(71-00-00, TEST NO. 3). CHECK FOR EVIDENCE OF AIR LEAKS AT FITTING. IF FOUND, REPAIR/REPLACE/RETIGHTEN FITTING AS REQUIRED.
