CHECK OIL SYSTEM DRAINS
1.WITH ENGINE SHUT DOWN, CHECK UNDERSIDE OF FAN COWL PANEL FOR EVIDENCE OF OIL LEAKAGE FROM STARTER AIR DISCHARGE DUCT FITTING AND FORWARD DRAIN HOLE.
2. CHECK FOR OIL LEAKING FROM AFT SUMP DRAIN HOLE [(LIMIT IS 60 CC/HR (20 DROPS/MIN)].

CHECK OIL SYSTEM DRAINS (CONT)
3. IF OIL LEAKAGE IS EVIDENT FROM STARTER AIR DISCHARGE DUCT FITTING OR FORWARD DRAIN HOLE, OPEN RIGHT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP) AND CHECK FOR OIL DROPLETS FROM DRAIN TUBES.
A. IF OIL LEAKAGE FROM ACCESSORY PAD DRAINS EXCEEDS LIMITS, PERFORM APPROPRIATE CORRECTIVE ACTION (71-71-00 I/C).
B. IF OIL IS LEAKING FROM OIL TANK SCUPPER DRAIN, CHECK OIL TANK FILLER CAP FOR PROPER FIT.
C. IF OIL LEAKAGE FROM FORWARD SUMP DRAIN EXCEEDS LIMITS (71-71-00 I/C), REPLACE ENGINE
(71-00-02).
4. CLOSE RIGHT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP).

EXAMINE OIL INDICATING SYSTEM PLUMBING
1.
OPEN LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP).
2.
EXAMINE VENT PRESSURE TUBES AND OIL SUPPLY PRESSURE TUBES TO LOW OIL PRESSURE SWITCH AND OIL
PRESSURE TRANSMITTER FOR LEAKS OR COLLAPSED AREAS.
3.
EXAMINE INLET AND OUTLET PRESSURE TUBES TO OIL FILTER BYPASS PRESSURE SWITCH FOR LEAKS OR
COLLAPSED AREAS.
4.
CLOSE LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (71-11-02 MP).

FLAME ARRESTOR CHECK
_______EXHAUST AREA MAY BE EXTREMELY HOT AND MAY CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL IF CONTACTED.
WARNING:
1.
USING FLASHLIGHT, VIEW FLAME ARRESTOR THROUGH OPENING IN END OF TURBINE EXHAUST PLUG AND CHECK SCREEN FOR CLOGGING.
2.
IF SIGNIFICANT CLOGGING IS FOUND, REPLACE FLAME ARRESTOR (72-56-01).
