CONSTANT SPEED DRIVE (CSD) OIL COOLER CHECK
1.
OPEN RIGHT FAN COWL DUCT AND THRUST REVERSER HALF (78-31-00 MP).
2.
CHECK CSD OIL COOLER FOR FOREIGN OBJECT DAMAGE (FOD) AND OIL LEAKS. IF MAJOR FOD AND/OR ANY OIL LEAKS FOUND, REPLACE CSD OIL COOLER (24-11-21).
3.
CHECK FOR CLOGGING OF COOLING AIR HOLES. IF FOUND, USE COMPRESSED AIR TO BLOW DEBRIS OUT OF AIR HOLES. CLEAN ANY DISLODGED DEBRIS FROM FAN DUCT.
4.
CLOSE FAN DUCT COWL AND THRUST REVERSER HALF (78-31-00 MP).

POWER PLANT - TROUBLE SHOOTING (ENGINE CHECKS)

1. General_______
A. Trouble shooting steps or procedures which appear repeatedly within trouble shooting charts and/or have a degree of complexity which require a detailed explanation or specific illustrations to accomplish are designated as engine checks. Details of the checks are contained in this section and are referred to by trouble shooting charts in other trouble shooting sections.
B. Engine checks may require special test equipment, removal of components, and/or engine operation to accomplish.

FUEL PUMP IMPELLER ROTATION CHECK
1. EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS
A. LUBRICANT - AEROLUBRIPLATE (AMM 70-10-01)
2. DO THESE STEPS TO MAKE SURE THE FUEL PUMP IMPELLER TURNS:
A. OPEN THE LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (AMM 71-11-02/201).
B. REMOVE THE LUBE FLOW SCREEN FROM THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING. DISCARD THE PACKINGS.
C. MANUALLY TURN THE N2 ROTOR (AMM 72-00-00/201). LOOK THROUGH THE LUBE FLOW SCREEN OPENING, TO MAKE SURE THAT THE IMPELLER TURNS.
D. INSTALL THE LUBE FLOW SCREEN.
(1)
INSTALL THE NEW LUBRICATED PACKINGS IN THE GROOVES ON THE LUBE FLOW SCREEN.
(2)
INSTALL THE LUBE FLOW SCREEN IN THE PUMP HOUSING. TIGHTEN THE SCREEN TO 90-110 POUND-INCHES (10.2-12.4 N.M) AND INSTALL THE LOCKWIRE.
E.
CLOSE THE LEFT FAN COWL PANEL (AMM 71-11-02/201).
