(c)  Lubricate the shank of the bolt with grease.
 NOTE:____ Do not lubricate the bolt threads with grease.
 (d)  Install the bolt, washer and nut on the hinge.
 (5)  S 216-006-C00Examine the hold-open rod for signs of wear.
 (6)  S 226-007-C00If it is necessary, do the steps that follow to measure the wear of the hold-open rod. (a) Remove the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/401). (b) Remove the bolt and nut from the hold-open rod. (c) Measure the components for wear (Fig. 601). (d) Install the bolt and nut on the hold-open rod. (e) Install the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/401).
 (7)  S 416-008-C00Close the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

FAN COWL PANEL LATCH - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains the removal and installation for the lower latches for the fan cowl panel. The latch mechanism includes the latches on the left fan cowl panel and the latch keepers on the right fan cowl panel.
 B.  The steps to remove and install the latches are in paragraph 2 and 3.
 The steps to remove and install the latch keepers are in paragraph 4 and

 5.

 C.  
You can do this procedure with the fan cowl panels on or off the engine.
