Open the oil tank access and pressure relief door.

 (a)  
Put a screwdriver blade into the latch handle slots.

 (b)  
Turn the screwdriver handle 90 degrees clockwise to release the latches.

 (c)  
Open the door.

Remove the screws, nuts, and washers (4 locations each) that attach the latch to the door.

Remove the latch from the door.

Install the Latch.

 (1)  Apply two layers of primer to the latch faying surface.
 (a)  Dry the primer for 5 minutes with a heat gun.

Install the latch on the bottom side of the access and pressure relief door such that the holes in the latch aligns with the holes in the door and the latch handle aligns with the cutout in the door.

Lubricate the screws (4 locations) with grease on all surfaces.

Install the screws (4 locations).

Install the washers and nuts (4 locations) on the screws.


 (a)  Tighten the nuts.

 (6)  Make sure the latch is smooth with the outer surface of the door in less than |0.03 inch (|0.76 mm).
 (a)  If the latch is not smooth with the door, replace the latch.

Make sure the clearance between the latch handle and the door cutout is 0.06-0.09 inches (1.5-2.3 mm).

 (a)  If the clearance is not in the limits, cut the door cutout to get the correct clearance.

 (8)  
Examine the latch free play.

 (9)  
Do the Latch Release test.
