EMERGENCY LIGHTS - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
__________________________________
1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks for the emergency lights:
(1)
Emergency Lights - Operational Test with the Pilot's Switch
(2)
Emergency Lights - Operational Test with the Pilot's and Attendant's Switches
(3)
Emergency Lights - Functional Test
B. The first operational test makes sure the emergency lights come on. After this test, you charge the batteries for the emergency lights if it is necessary (AMM 33-51-51/201).
C. The second operational test makes sure each component in the emergency lighting system operates correctly. Some of these components are the pilot's control switch, attendant's control switch, and circuit breakers. The emergency lights are on for more time during this test than during the operational test. After this test, you charge the batteries for the emergency lights if it is necessary (AMM 33-51-51/201).
D. The functional test makes sure the batteries can supply electrical power to the emergency lights for a minimum of 10 minutes. When you start this test, the batteries must be sufficiently charged. To prepare the airplane for flight after this test, electrical power is supplied for 16 hours to fully charge the batteries.
