C. Lens Removal
S 864-022
(1) Do one of these steps to remove electrical power from the lower anticollision light:
(a)
At the overhead panel, P5, set the switch to the off position and attach the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(b)
Open each applicable circuit breaker and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) On the load control center panel, P18.

(2) Remove the lens.
(a)
Loosen the retaining nut.
(b)
Carefully remove the retainer band and the lens.
(c)
Remove each gasket.

Clean the inner and outer side of the lens with a clean, soft, dry cloth.

(2)
Install the lens.
(a)
Install each gasket.
(b)
Carefully put the lens and retainer in position.
(c)
Tighten the retaining nut.
D. Light Test

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

(2)
Remove each DO-NOT-OPERATE or DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.
(a) Close each circuit breaker that was opened.

(3) At the overhead panel, P5, set the switch for the lower anticollision light to the on position.
WARNING: DO NOT LET THE STROBE LIGHT FLASH DIRECTLY IN YOUR EYES.
_______ THE INTENSITY OF THE LIGHT CAN CAUSE YOU TO NOT SEE TEMPORARILY.
(a) Make sure the light comes on and flashes correctly.

A. A strobe position light is installed on each wingtip and on the fuselage tail cone.
B. These white lights flash approximately 60 times each minute to show the location of the airplane.
