Do this task: "Seal the Open Terminals" (AMM 20-10-47/201).
(h)
Put the lamp in the frame. 1) For a halogen lamp, align the filament of the lamp horizontally.
2) For an incandescent lamp, make sure the filament shroud of the lamp is nearest to the fuselage.
CAUTION: HOLD THE LAMP IN THE CORRECT POSITION WHILE YOU INSTALL
_______ THE RETAINER. IF THE LAMP IS IN THE INCORRECT POSITION, THE INSTALLATION OF THE RETAINER CAN BREAK THE LAMP.
(i) Hold the lamp and install the retainer with the screws.

(4) Do a test of the inboard landing lights.
(a)
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
(b)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
1) P18-3 Load Control Center - Left
a) RIGHT INBOARD LANDING LIGHTS
b) LEFT INBOARD LANDING LIGHTS
CAUTION: DO NOT MAKE THE LIGHTS COME ON FOR MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES.
_______ AFTER YOU MAKE THE LIGHTS COME ON, MAKE THE LIGHTS GO OFF FOR AN EQUAL TIME. BECAUSE OF THE HEAT, THE CONTINUED OPERATION OF THE LIGHTS CAN DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE LAMPS.
(c) Set the LANDING INBOARD L and LANDING INBOARD R switches of the overhead panel, P5, to ON. 1) Make sure the lights come on.

2) Make sure the lighting, on each side of the airplane, falls on symmetrical areas of the ground.
NOTE: If the lighting is not symmetrical, then adjust the
____ lights (Ref 33-42-31/501).
(d) Set the LANDING INBOARD L and R switches of P5 to OFF.
E. Put the airplane back to its usual condition.

_______ THE LENS. THE SEAL OF THE LENS MUST STOP ALL FUEL FUMES. IF THERE ARE LEAKS IN THE SEAL, FUEL FUMES CAN COLLECT NEAR THE LIGHTS AND CAUSE AN EXPLOSION. AN EXPLOSION CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Install the lens of the inboard landing and runway turnoff light (Ref 33-42-21/401).

_______ LEADING EDGE FLAP AND SLAT LOCKS CORRECTLY. THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task: "Leading Edge Flap and Slat Locks Removal" (Ref 27-81-00/201).

INBOARD LANDING LIGHTS - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
Inboard Landing Light - Adjustment with a Light Aligner
(2)
Inboard Landing Light - Adjustment with a Target
B. Each inboard landing light is adjacent to a runway turnoff light. The two lights are behind one lens.
C. The inboard landing lights are in a fuel vapor area. Each lamp, electrical connection, and lens has a seal to stop all fuel fumes and water.
D. This procedure contains a recommended adjustment procedure and an alternative adjustment procedure. Use one of the two adjustment procedures.
E. The ground must be level below and in front of the airplane.
