C. Procedure

(1) Do one of these steps to remove electrical power from the tail strobe position light:
(a)
Open each applicable circuit breaker and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) On the load control center panel, P18.
(b)
At the overhead panel, P5, set the switch to the off position and attach the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE LIGHT WITH YOUR BARE HANDS UNTIL THE LIGHT IS
_______ OFF FOR A MINIMUM OF FIVE MINUTES. DURING THIS TIME, YOU CAN RECEIVE AN INJURY IF YOU TOUCH THE LIGHT. THE LIGHT CAN BURN YOUR SKIN OR GIVE YOU AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK.

Remove the mounting screws from the base of the light.

Pull out the light and disconnect the electrical connector from the light.
(4)
Remove the mounting bolts from the tube.
(5)
Pull out the light from the tube.

(1) Push the light into the tube.
(a)
Install the mounting bolts.
(b)
Connect the electrical connector to the light.

(2) Put the light assembly in its position.
(a) Install the mounting screws.
D. Light Test

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Remove each DO-NOT-CLOSE or DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(a) Close each circuit breaker that was opened when the light was removed.

(3) Set the switch for the strobe position lights to the on position.
WARNING: DO NOT LET THE STROBE LIGHT FLASH DIRECTLY IN YOUR EYES.
_______ THE INTENSITY OF THE LIGHT CAN CAUSE YOU NOT TO SEE TEMPORARILY.
(a) Make sure that the light flashes at the rate of 60 +/- 10 times per minute.

Set the switch to the off position.
(5)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
