(1) Do one of these steps to remove electrical power from the tail strobe position light:
(a)
Open each applicable circuit breaker and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) On the load control center panel, P18.
(b)
At the overhead panel, P5, set the switch to the off position and attach the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE LIGHT WITH YOUR BARE HANDS UNTIL THE LIGHT IS
_______ OFF FOR A MINIMUM OF FIVE MINUTES. DURING THIS TIME, YOU CAN RECEIVE AN INJURY IF YOU TOUCH THE LIGHT. THE LIGHT CAN BURN YOUR SKIN OR GIVE YOU AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK.
(2) Remove the lens.
(a)
Remove the retaining screws and remove the lens.
(b)
If there is a gasket, remove it.

(3) Carefully replace the lamp.
(a)
Remove the lockwire from the lamp receptacle.
(b)
Pull out the defective lamp.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW LAMP WITH YOUR BARE HANDS. THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN CAN CAUSE THE LAMP TO BREAK WHEN THE LAMP COMES ON AND BECOMES HOT.
(c)
To hold the lamp, use a cloth or a glove which is clean and soft.
(d)
Push the lamp into the lamp receptacle.
(e)
Install the lockwire on the lamp receptacle.

(4) Install the lens.
(a)
Clean the lens with a clean soft dry cloth.
(b)
Install the gasket, if it was removed.
(c)
Install the lens with the retaining screws.
D. Lamp Test

(1)
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

(2)
Remove each DO-NOT-CLOSE or DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(a) Close each circuit breaker that was opened.

(3) Set the switch to on position.
WARNING: DO NOT LET THE STROBE POSITION LIGHTS FLASH DIRECTLY IN
_______ YOUR EYES. THE INTENSITY OF THE LIGHT CAN CAUSE YOU NOT TO SEE TEMPORARILY.
(a) Make sure that the light flashes at the rate of 60 +/- 10 times per minute.

Set the switch to the off position.
(5)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
