 NOTE: To lower the light assembly to the full open position,
____ disconnect the shorter lanyard.
 (c)  
Disconnect the wires from the screw terminals on the ballast.

 (d)  
Remove the bolts, washers, and nuts that hold the ballast in its position.

 (e)  
Remove the ballast.

 (f)  
Hold the ballast in its position and install the three bolts, washers, and nuts.

 (g)  
Attach the wires to the screw terminals on the ballast.

 (2)  Do a test of the galley light:
 (a)  
Close this circuit breaker and remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:

 1)  P18-3 Load Control Center - Left a) GALLEY LIGHTS

 (b)  
Put the galley light switch in the BRT position. 1) Make sure the galley light is on at a bright intensity.

 (c)  
Put the galley light switch in the DIM position.

 1)  Make sure the galley light changes from a bright intensity to a dim intensity.

 (d)
Put the galley light switch in the OFF position.

 PASSENGER LOADING LIGHTS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 1.  General________
 A. A passenger loading light is one of the interior lights which follows:
 (1)  
Entry Light

 (2)  
Threshold Light

 (3)  
Attendant's Work Light

 (4)  
Airstair Light


 B.  Passenger loading lights give lighting to the areas near the doors of the passenger compartment.

 2.  Entry Light___________
 A.  An entry light gives lighting to an entry area. Each entry light is installed in the aisle ceiling between the passenger door and the service door.
 (1)  Each entry light contains fluorescent lamps.
 (a)  
The 115 volts ac of electrical power for the fluorescent lamps comes from the ground service bus through a circuit breaker on the P18 panel. 1) ENTRY LIGHT WITH A TRANSFORMER;

 A transformer installed above the entry light increases the voltage before the electrical power is supplied to the ballast of the fluorescent lamps.

 (b)  
You operate an entry light with a switch installed on the attendant's panel near the entry light. 1) In the off position, the fluorescent lamps are off. 2) In the dim position, a voltage is supplied to the entry


 light ballast to make the fluorescent lamps come on dimly. 3) In the bright position, more voltage is supplied to the ballast to make the fluorescent lamps come on brightly.
