 OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains these tasks for the outboard landing light (referred to as the light):
 (1)  
The adjustment of the light

 (2)  
An operational test of the light.


 B.  There is an outboard landing light in each outboard fairing.
 C.  The outboard landing lights can be extended and retracted.
 D.  For this procedure, the airplane must be approximately level. The ground must be level below the airplane.

 (1)  Location Zone 307 Left Wing Trailing Edge, Outboard Flap and Spoilers 407 Right Wing Trailing Edge, Outboard Flap and Spoilers
 D.  Procedure
 S 865-001
 (1)  Prepare the light.
 (a)  Make sure the airplane is approximately level (AMM 08-10-00/201).
 NOTE: For this procedure, the attitude of the airplane can be
____ 5 degrees from level. If the airplane is more than 5 degrees from level, then lift or lower the airplane (AMM 08-10-00/201).
 (b)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (c)  
Lower the trailing edge flaps to the 30-unit position (AMM 27-51-00/501).

 (d)  
Set the LANDING OUTBOARD L and the LANDING OUTBOARD R switches on the overhead panel, P5, to the EXTEND position. 1) Make sure each of the two lights extends fully down.

 (e)  
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:


 1)  P18-3 Load Control Center - Left a) RIGHT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS

 b)  LEFT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS
 (f)  
Remove the tail cone.
 1) Remove the screws that hold the tail cone.
 2) Pull the tail cone from the outboard fairing.


 (g)  
Attach the light adjustment tool to the light.
