C. Lens Installation

Clean the inner and outer side of the lens with a clean, soft, dry cloth.

Install the lens.
(a)
Install each gasket.
(b)
Carefully put the lens and retainer in position.
(c)
Install the retaining nuts.
D. Light Test

(1)
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Remove each DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close each circuit breaker that was opened.

(3)
At the overhead panel, P5, set the switch for the upper
anticollision light to the on position.
WARNING: DO NOT LET THE STROBE LIGHT FLASH DIRECTLY IN YOUR EYES.
_______ THE INTENSITY OF THE LIGHT CAN CAUSE YOU TO NOT SEE TEMPORARILY.
(a) Make sure the light comes on and flashes correctly.

Set the switch to the off position.
(5)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

LOWER ANTICOLLISION LIGHT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General

A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
Lower Anticollision Light - Removal
(2)
Lower Anticollision Light - Installation
(3)
Lower Anticollision Light - Lens Removal
(4)
Lower Anticollision Light - Lens Installation
B. The lower anticollision light is attached to the bottom of the fuselage, below the leading edge of the wing.
(1)
When you do the removal of the light procedure, you remove the light from the inner side of the airplane. The lens is not removed.
(2)
When you do the removal of the lens procedure, you remove the lens from the outer side of the airplane. The light is not removed.

2. Lower Anticollision Light Removal (Fig. 401)

B. Light Removal
S 864-002
(1) Do one of these steps to remove electrical power from the lower anticollision light:
(a)
At the overhead panel, P5, set the switch to the off position and attach the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(b)
Open each applicable circuit breaker and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) On the load control center panel, P18.

(2) Open the right and left air-conditioning access panels to get access to the light.
NOTE: The light is in the area between the forward bottoms of the

two air-conditioning compartments.

(3) Remove the light.
(a) LIGHT CONNECTED WITH AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR; Disconnect the electrical connector.
