(1) Remove the lens.
(a)
Remove the screws from the lens.
(b)
Carefully pull the lens from the fuselage.
(c)
Remove the gasket.
S 962-004
(2) Replace the lamp.
(a) Remove the lamp.
NOTE: For a forward overwing light, remove the screws which
____ hold the lamp retainer.
(b)
Clean the overwing light assembly with a clean dry cloth.
(c)
Install the new lamp.

D. Lamp Test

(1) At the overhead panel, P5, or the attendant's panel, set the emergency lights switch to the on position.
NOTE: Keep a record of the time that the emergency lights are on.

(a) In the least possible time, make sure the new lamp comes on correctly.

(2) Quickly set the emergency lights switch to the usual position.
(a) Make sure the emergency lights go off.

(3)
Install the lens with a gasket and the screws.

If it is necessary, charge the batteries for the emergency lights (AMM 33-51-51/201).

A. This procedure contains these tasks for a emergency lights control panel:

The removal of the pilot's control panel from the overhead panel, P5.
(2)
The installation of the pilot's control panel.
(3)
The removal of the aft attendant's panel, P14.
(4)
The installation of the aft attendant's panel.

Remove the fasteners and lower the pilot's control panel.
(b)
Disconnect the electrical connector at the rear of the pilot's control panel.
NOTE: The emergency lights will come on automatically.

(c) Quickly ground pins 1 and 6 of electrical connector D4048J with jumper wires (WDM 33-51-11).
NOTE: This temporary change to the circuit will keep the
