(a)
Push the lavatory call switch in each lavatory. 1) Make sure the lavatory call light near each lavatory comes
on. 2) Make sure you hear a chime.
(b)
AIRPLANES WITHOUT A LAVATORY CALL RESET SWITCH; Push the call switch again. 1) Make sure the call light goes off.

(c) AIRPLANES WITH A LAVATORY CALL RESET SWITCH; Push the call reset switch, located on the outside of the lavatory. 1) Make sure the call light goes off.

Do a test of the passenger call lights.
(a)
Push the passenger call switch on each passenger service unit (PSU). 1) Make sure the light in the call switch comes on. 2) Make sure the correct passenger call light is on. 3) Make sure you hear a chime.
(b)
Push the passenger call switch again. 1) Make sure the light in the call switch goes off. 2) Make sure the passenger call light goes off.
(4)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

LAVATORY LIGHTS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

General

A. A lavatory light is one of these lights:
(1)
Lavatory Dome Light
(2)
Lavatory Mirror Light
(3)
Lavatory Occupied Sign or Light

A. A dome light is installed in the ceiling to continuously give dim general lighting.
(1)
This light contains an incandescent lamp.
(2)
There are no switches to operate this light. The light comes on automatically when 28 volts dc of electrical power is supplied to it.
Lavatory Mirror Light

A. The mirror light is adjacent to the mirror in the lavatory. This light gives general lighting in the lavatory.

This light contains two fluorescent lamps.
(2)
ON SOME AIRPLANES; This light also contains an incandescent lamp. If the mirror light contains an incandescent lamp, then the lavatory will not have a dome light.
B. When airplane power is connected, the lavatory fluorescent lamps are controlled with the position of the lavatory door.
(1)
When the door is closed and locked, 115 volts ac of electrical power is supplied through the door lock switch to the ballast of the fluorescent lamps.
(2)
When the door is opened, the door lock switch opens and the
fluorescent lamps go off.
(3)
LAVATORY WITH A SWITCH FOR THE MIRROR LIGHT; For bright lighting in the lavatory with the door open, the fluorescent lamps can be operated with a switch in the lavatory.
C. When external power is connected to the airplane, the fluorescent lamps come on. The 115 volts ac of electrical power is supplied from the external power bus through the door lock switch to the ballast of the fluorescent lamps.
D. LAVATORY WITH AN INCANDESCENT LAMP IN THE MIRROR LIGHT; The incandescent lamp continuously gives dim general lighting.
