(2) Do a test of the lamp.
(a)
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
(b)
Do a test of the caution indicator lights.
1) Hold the LIGHTS switch of the P2 panel in the TEST position. a) Make sure the lamps you replaced come on.
2) Release the LIGHTS switch to the BRT position. a) Make sure all the indicator lights are off.
(c) Do a test of the position indicator lights.
WARNING: THE OPERATION OF A SWITCH WILL CAUSE ITS SYSTEM TO
_______ OPERATE. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF A SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
1) Use the applicable system test to operate the switch. a) Make sure the indicator light comes on. 2) Push the switch to the off position. a) Make sure the indicator light goes off.
(d) Remove electrical power if it is not necessary

LIGHTPLATES - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of a lightplate.
(2)
The installation of a lightplate.
B. Lightplates give lighting to the components and words on the pilots' panels.
C. When the lighting becomes too dim, you must replace the lightplate. Before you use a lightplate again, you must send it to the shop for lamp replacement. Do not try to replace the lamps in a lightplate while you are in the airplane. Instructions for lamp replacement are in the vendor's manual.

(1) Prepare to remove the lightplate.
(a)
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(b)
Set each switch for the lightplates to the bright position.
1) Identify each lightplate that does not come on or comes on dimly.
(c)
Set each switch to the off position.

(2) Remove the lightplate.
(a)
If it is necessary, remove the control knobs that are in front of the lightplate.
(b)
Remove the screws that hold the lightplate in its position.
(c)
Carefully pull the lightplate from the panel frame and disconnect the electrical connector from the lightplate.
