(1) Prepare the light.
WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO
_______ INSTALL THE LEADING EDGE FLAP AND SLAT LOCKS CORRECTLY. THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Do this task: "Leading Edge Flap and Slat Locks Installation" (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
1) P18-3 Load Control Center - Left
a) RIGHT INBOARD LANDING LIGHTS
b) LEFT INBOARD LANDING LIGHTS
(c)
Remove the inboard landing and runway turnoff light lens (Ref 33-42-21/401).

(2) Remove the lamp.
(a) Remove the retainer screws.
NOTE: Make sure you do not turn the adjustment screws.

(b)
Remove the retainer.
(c)
Remove the lamp from the frame.
(d)
Disconnect the electrical wires from the terminals of the lamp.
(e)
Remove and discard the old lamp and its gasket.
NOTE: Attempting to use the old gasket may reduce the service
____
life of the new lamp.

(3) Install the new lamp and gasket.
NOTE: Care should be taken to ensure there is no direct contact
____ between the lamp glass and metal housing or the retainer ring.
(a)
Clean the light assembly with a clean dry cloth.
(b)
Install a new gasket.
1) Without stretching the material, wind a gasket out of the BMS1-68F Tape around the edge of the lamp, leaving an equal amount of gasket overhanging both sides.
(c)
Fold the gasket edges around the sides of the lamp to fit in the retainer, being careful not to cover too much of the front of the lamp.
(d)
Install additional pieces of gasket material over the index lugs on the back of the lamp, to prevent contact with the housing.

(e)
Clean the terminals of the lamp and the ends of the electrical wires to remove all dirt and corrosion.
(f)
Connect the electrical wires to the terminals of the lamp.
NOTE: Tighten the screws until the lockwashers are fully
