(c) Set the switch for the landing light to the off position.
NOTE: Make sure the lens assembly and the landing light retainer do not touch.

C. Procedure

Do this task: "Leading Edge Flap and Slat Locks Installation" (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Remove the lens of the inboard landing and runway turnoff lights (AMM 33-42-21/401).

Make sure the airplane and the test area are on level ground.

Make sure the airplane is approximately level.

Set the target in its position (Fig. 503).
NOTE: The target must be sufficiently large to see when you adjust
____ the light. For the target, you can make a mark on the ground or set an object on the ground.

Adjust the light.

CAUTION: DO NOT MAKE THE LIGHTS COME ON FOR MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES.
_______ AFTER YOU MAKE THE LIGHTS COME ON, MAKE THE LIGHTS GO OFF FOR AN EQUAL TIME. BECAUSE OF THE HEAT, THE CONTINUED OPERATION OF THE LIGHTS CAN DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE LAMPS.
(a) At the overhead panel, P5, set the switch for the landing light to the on position.
