Do a test of the lightning protector.
(a)
Set the switch on the test set to TEST.
(b)
Make sure the OUTPUT ENERGIZED light on the test set comes on.
(c)
Turn the control knob on the test set clockwise slowly (so that the indicator needle shows an increase of less than 30 volts per second), until the indicator needle gets near the green band.
(d)
Turn the control knob on the test set clockwise more slowly (so that the indicator needle shows an increase of less than 15 volts per second), until the indicator light goes out.
NOTE: The lightning protector starts to operate when the

light goes out.
(e)
Make sure the lightning protector starts to operate between 250 and 270 volts.
(f)
Set the switch on the test set to RESET.
(g)
Set the polarity switch on the test set to NEGATIVE.
(h)
Set the switch on the test set to TEST.
(i)
Make sure the OUTPUT ENERGIZED light on the test set comes on.
(j)
Turn the control knob on the test set clockwise slowly (so that the indicator needle shows an increase of less than 30 volts per second), until the indicator needle gets near the green band.
