INTEGRATED DRIVE GENERATOR - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks to do a check of the IDG:
(1) Examine the pressure differential indicator (the red button) and the IDG scavenge filter.
NOTE: The DPI extension procedure, single or alternate can be
____
intermixed.
(2)
Examine the oil in the IDG.
(3)
Examine the IDG pressure oiler (service fitting) and pressure cap.
B.
If the IDG is replaced, the IDG scavenge filter element is installed in the IDG. The IDG and the IDG filter element is sent to the repair shop for analysis.
C.
Once the filter element is removed, do not install the same filter element in the IDG. A used filter element cannot be cleaned. Install a new filter element.
D.
When the intergrated drive generator shows signs of contamination, flush the oil coolers and the tubing with oil. If the scavenge filter o-ring is damaged or collapsed the oil coolers and tubing must be replaced.
