Remove the self locking terminal nuts and washers, self locking nuts with captive washers or Spriolox nuts as applicable.

Remove the phase leads.
(a)
Make sure the phase identification sleeving and the fanning strip is installed.

Remove the terminal block screws.

Remove the terminal block.
(a)
Move the terminal block to the input end of the IDG to remove it from the through-leads.

CAUTION:_______ DEFORMED SQUARE WASHERS CAN CAUSE LOW CONDUCTIVITY OF THE PHASE LEADS. LOW CONDUCTIVITY OF THE PHASE LEADS CAN CAUSE HIGH PHASE LEAD TEMPERATURES. HIGH PHASE LEAD TEMPERATURES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Make sure the square washers are flat.
CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THE TERMINAL BLOCK STUD THREADS ARE NOT GALLED OR DAMAGED. LOW TERMINAL NUT TORQUES WILL OCCUR TO THE PHASE LEADS. LOW TERMINAL NUT TORQUES WILL CAUSE LOW CONDUCTIVITY OF THE PHASE LEADS. LOW PHASE LEAD TEMPERATURES WILL CAUSE HIGH PHASE LEAD TEMPERATURES. HIGH PHASE LEAD TEMPERATURES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(b) Replace the terminal block, if the terminal studs have any of the following conditions: 1) The terminal studs are loose. 2) The terminal stud threads are galled or damaged.
(2) S 424-021Install the terminal block.
CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THE SQUARE WASHERS ARE INSTALLED BELOW THE THROUGH LEADS. SQUARE WASHERS INSTALLED ABOVE THE THROUGH LEADS ARE WILL CAUSE LOW PHASE LEAD CONDUCTIVITY. LOW PHASE LEAD CONDUCTIVITY WILL CAUSE HIGH PHASE LEAD TEMPERATURES. HIGH PHASE LEAD TEMPERATURES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Put the square washers below the through-lead straps.
