Install the drain tube (16) for the overtemperature relief valve to the union (15).
(a)
Tighten the tube nut.

Connect the generator power wires:
(a)
Remove the terminal block screws (9) and the washer (10) that hold the terminal block cover (7).
(b)
Remove the terminal block cover (7).
(c)
Remove the nuts (6) and the washers (5) from the terminal studs.
(d)
Make sure the color sleeves are not damaged or missing, replace the sleeves (SWPM 20-10-14).
(e)
If the fanning strip is damaged or loose, replace the fanning strip.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU CONNECT THE GENERATOR WIRES TO THE
_______ CORRECT TERMINAL STUDS ON THE IDG. AN INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE A CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION, WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
(f) Attach the four generator power wires (11) to the IDG terminal studs.
CAUTION: INSTALL THE WASHERS BETWEEN THE TERMINAL NUT AND THE
_______ GENERATOR POWER WIRES. IF YOU INSTALL THE WASHERS BELOW THE POWER WIRES, RESISTANCE HEAT CAN OCCUR. THIS HEAT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE IDG TERMINAL BLOCK AND THE GENERATOR POWER WIRES.
(g)
Install the washers (5) and the terminal nuts (6) on top of the generator power wires.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE TORQUE PUTTY ON THE THREADS AND NUT. DAMAGE TO THE TERMINAL STUD OR SPIRALOX NUT LOCKING ABILITY CAN OCCUR.
(h)
Tighten the terminal nuts to a torque of 144-168 pound-inches (16.3-19.0 N.m).
NOTE:____Spiralox nuts do not have run down torque. If a sprialox nut has run down torque, replace the nut.
(i)
Install the terminal block cover (7) with the two terminal block screws (9) and the two washers (10).
(j)
Tighten the screws to a torque of 20-22 pound-inches (2.3-2.5 N.m).
(k)
Move the fanning strip close to the terminal cover.
