Open the left thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Do this step to examine the pressure differential indicator (the red button) adjacent to the scavenge filter on the IDG.
(a)
Examine the position of the red button.
1) FOR IDG USING SINGLE DPI EXTENSION PROCEDURE; If the indicator button is in the up position, do these steps: a) Examine the IDG scavenge filter.
NOTE: Scavenge filter inspection is a check to see if
____ it is necessary to replace the cooler and oil lines.
b) Replace the IDG (AMM 24-11-01/401). 2) Do these steps if the button is in the down position: a) If other regular IDG service maintenance is not required, no more work is necessary. b) If other regular IDG service maintenance tasks are required, do those tasks.
3) FOR IDG USING THE ALTERNATE DPI EXTENSION PROCEDURE; If the indicator button is in the up position, do these steps:
4) Check the IDG DPI Extension decal for the number of DPI resets accomplished a) If this is the fourth (4th) occurance the DPI has been
reset, replace the IDG (AMM 24-11-01/401).
