 NOTE: The clamp track area is where the IDG mounting flange touches

 the QAD ring when the IDG is installed.

 (a)  Replace the QAD ring if the worn areas are not equal around the ring (AMM 24-11-08/401).

 (5)  
Do a check of the tension bolt.

 (a)  
Install the inspection plate or the IDG in the QAD ring (AMM 24-11-01/401).


 NOTE: Install the plate in the same location where the IDG is
____
 installed.

 (b)  
Tighten the tension bolt on the QAD ring to 240-264
 pound-inches (27.1-29.8 N.m).


 (c)  
Hit the QAD ring lightly with a soft mallet.


 NOTE: Only hit the QAD ring between the 4 o'clock and
____ 7 o'clock positions (as seen from the rear).
 (d)  
Measure the torque of the tension bolt.

 (e)  
Make sure the torque is 180 pound-inches (20.3 N.m) or more.


 1)  If the torque is less than 180 pound-inches (20.3 N.m), do these steps: a) Tighten the tension bolt to 240-264 pound-inches
 (27.1-29.8 N.m). b) Hit the QAD ring lightly with a soft mallet.
 NOTE: Only hit the QAD ring between the 4 o'clock and
____ 7 o'clock positions (as seen from the rear).

 c)  Measure the bolt torque.
 d)  If the torque is less than 180 pound-inches (20.3 N.m), tighten the bolt to 240-264 pound-inches (27.1-29.8 N.m).
 e)  Hit the QAD and check the torque of the tension bolt until the measured torque of the tension bolt does not decrease. Torque the tension bolt to 240-264 pound-inches (27.1-29.8 N.m.).
 (f)  
Tighten the bolt to 240-264 pound-inches (27.1-29.8 N.m).

 (g)  
If the IDG is used, install lockwire on the tension bolt.

 (h)  
Make sure the torque lug centerline on the QAD ring is in the green band or the yellow band. 1) If the torque lug centerline is not in the green or yellow

 band, replace the QAD ring (AMM 24-11-08/401).

 (i)  
If installed, remove the inspection plate.

 (6)  If the inspection plate is used, install the IDG (AMM 24-11-01/401).

 (2)  Do a check of the tension bolt torque.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE QAD RING DOES NOT BIND OR CATCH WHILE
_______ YOU TIGHTEN THE TENSION BOLT. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE QAD RING.
 (a)  
Remove the lockwire from the tension bolt.

 (b)  
Tap the QAD ring with a soft mallet or brass drift to center the QAD ring and to prevent false torque readings.
