G. Procedure

(1)
If you install the generator (2 or 11) that was removed, do a check of the generator.
(a)
Examine the generator (2 or 11) and the generator mounting flange for damage.
(b)
Examine the input shaft splines on the generator (2 or 11) for worn areas or damage.
(c)
Examine the current transformer on the generator (2 or 11) for damage.
(d)
Turn the generator rotor quickly with your hand.
NOTE: The generator drive shaft is free to move a small
____ distance from the center. A small vibration of the drive shaft is usual when you turn it.
1) Reject the generator if the rotor does not turn freely. 2) Reject the generator if the movement of the rotor is irregular.

(2) If you install a new generator (2 or 11), install the air inlet duct (6).
CAUTION: ONLY REMOVE THE FOUR BOLTS THAT ATTACH THE AIR INLET DUCT
_______ TO THE GENERATOR. IF YOU REMOVE MORE THAN FOUR BOLTS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GENERATOR.
(a)
Remove the four screws (4) and washers (5) on the generator (2 or 11) for the air inlet duct (6).
(b)
Put the air inlet (6) in its position on the generator (2 or 11).
(c)
Install the washers (5) and the screws (4) that attach the air inlet duct (6) to the generator (2 or 11).
(d)
Tighten the screws (4) to 30-35 pound-inches.
(e)
Install lockwire on the screws (4).

(3)
Install the generator (2 or 11).
(a)
Lubricate a new O-ring with APU oil.
(b)
Install the O-ring on the generator drive shaft.
(c)
Install the spreader bar, the fishpole hoist, and the sling to the generator, if they are not installed.
(d)
Apply a thin layer of grease to the surface of the generator mounting flange.
(e)
Apply a thin layer of sealing compound on the inner surface of the QAD ring.
