 PRESENT, THE AIRPLANE CAN BE PUT AT AN ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL
 ABOVE EARTH GROUND.  THIS ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL CAN RESULT IN
 ELECTRIC SHOCK WITH POSSIBLE SEVERE INJURY TO PERSONNEL WHO
 CONTACT THE AIRPLANE.  IF THE GROUND RETURN (NEUTRAL) CIRCUIT
 ON THE EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY OR THE EXTERNAL POWER RECEPTACLE
 DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU
 STATICALLY GROUND THE AIRPLANE (AMM 20-41-01).
 WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE ALL AIRPLANE SYSTEMS THAT USE ELECTRICAL POWER ARE IN
 A SAFE CONDITION.  AIRPLANE SYSTEMS CAN OPERATE AND CAUSE
 INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS CLEAR OF OTHER PERSONS
_______ BEFORE YOU SUPPLY POWER TO THE AIRPLANE. HIGH VOLTAGES CAN CAUSE INJURIES.
 (1)  
Open door 118A to get access to the external power receptacle on the P36 panel.

 (2)  
Examine the external power supply cord and the airplane external power supply receptacle before you connect the external power supply to the receptacle. If you find excessive arc erosion, corrosion and heat damage or discoloration to the pins or receptacles, repair the problems that you find (AMM 24-41-03/401).

 WARNING: TURN OFF THE EXTERNAL ELECTRICAL POWER SOURCE BEFORE YOU PUT
_______ THE POWER CABLES INTO THE AIRPLANE RECEPTACLES. ELECTRICAL ARCS CAN CAUSE INJURIES.
 (3)  Connect the power cables to the external power receptacles No. 1 (D51) and No. 2 (D52) on panel P36.
 NOTE: If only one external power source is available, connect
____ the power cable to receptacle No. 1 (D51).

Set the BATTERY switch, on the P5 overhead panel, to OFF.

Make sure the STANDBY POWER switch, on the P5 overhead panel, in the OFF position.

Push the GROUND SERVICE switch on the flight attendants panel at the left door 2.

 NOTE: The GROUND SERVICE switch is on the flight attendants

 (a)  Make sure that the NOT IN USE light, on the P36 panel, is off.

 (1)  Make sure that the ON lights on EXT PWR 1 and EXT PWR 2 switches are on.
 NOTE: Most of the switches and lights you must use are on the
____ P5 overhead panel. Other panels you must use will be identified in the procedure.

 (2)  Push the EXT PWR 1 and EXT PWR 2 switches.

 CAUTION: THE BATTERY SWITCH MUST BE OFF WHEN ELECTRICAL POWER IS REMOVED
_______ FROM THE AIRPLANE. IF THE BATTERY SWITCH IS ON WITH NO AC POWER ON THE AIRPLANE, THE BATTERIES CAN BECOME DISCHARGED. THE APU WILL NOT START IF THE APU BATTERY IS DISCHARGED.
