(1) Install the QAD ring.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH GREASE ON THE SCREWS. THE GREASE CAN CAUSE A HYDRAULIC EFFECT IN THE BLIND HOLES OF THE GEARBOX WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE QAD RING.
(a)
Apply a thin layer of grease to the screws that attach the QAD ring to the APU load gearbox.
(b)
If you removed the isolator shim, install it on the APU load gearbox.
(c)
Put the QAD ring in its position, with the locator pin at the 9 o'clock position.
(d)
Install the eight screws that attach the QAD ring to the APU load gearbox. 1) Tighten the screws to 200 pound-inches.

APU-DRIVEN GENERATOR QUICK ATTACH-DETACH (QAD) RING - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. One task is an inspection of the quick attach-detach (QAD) ring for the APU-driven generator. The other task is a check of the torque on the tension bolt of the QAD ring.
B. The QAD ring attaches the APU-driven generator to the APU load gearbox. You must remove the generator to do an inspection of the QAD ring.
C. The tension bolt holds the QAD ring closed. The generator must be installed when you do a check of the torque on the bolt.
D. Access to the QAD ring for the APU-driven generator is through the APU access doors.
