 IDG QUICK ATTACH-DETACH (QAD) RING - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has three tasks. The first task is a visual inspection of the quick attach-detach (QAD) ring for the integrated drive generator (IDG). You must do an inspection of the QAD ring before you install the IDG. The task also includes a check of the tension bolt torque with the IDG removed.
 B.  The second task is a check of the tension bolt torque with the IDG installed.
 C.  The third task is a check of the tension bolt distance with the IDG installed. This check measures the quantity of worn areas on the QAD ring and the mounting flange.
 D.  The IDG QAD ring is installed on the aft face of the main gearbox at the 7 o'clock position.

Examine the QAD ring for nicks and burrs.

Examine the QAD ring, the tension bracket, the tension bolt nuts, and the tension bolt for damage.
