Remove the IDG (AMM 24-11-01/401).

Remove the eight bolts that attach the QAD ring to the gearbox.

Tap the hex screws with a hammer and drift.

(b)
Make sure the screw hex hole is clean.
CAUTION:_______USE A STUBBY 3/8 INCH DRIVE HEX DRIVER. THE STANDARD OR LONG HEX DRIVER WILL CAUSE THE DRIVER TO CAM OUT. THIS COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE QAD RING SCREWS.
(c)
Tap the hex driver in the screw to seat the driver.
CAUTION: APPLY THE FORCE SLOW AND EVEN AND PERPENDICULAR TO THE
_______ SCREW. JERKING OR APPLYING FORCE THAT IS NOT PERPENDICULAR TO THE SCREW WILL CAUSE THE HEX DRIVER TO CAM OUT OF THE SCREW AND DAMAGE THE SCREW.
CAUTION: USE A 1/2 INCH TO 3/8 INCH ADAPTER BETWEEM THE STUBBY HEX
_______ DRIVER AND THE 1/2 INCH DRIVE RACHET OR BREAKER BAR. THIS COMBINATION OF TOOLS WILL NOT CAUSE THE HEX DRIVER TO CAM OUT OF THE SCREW.
(d) Apply torque to remove the screw.

(3) If the QAD attachment screws are tight or damaged, do these steps to remove the screws (Fig. 403).
