Install the lightning protector.
(a)
Put the lightning protector in its position on the panel. (Refer to the table below for the equipment numbers.)

(b)
Install the two screws that attach the lightning protector to the panel.
(c)
Tighten the screws.

Connect the electrical leads to the X1 and X2 terminals on the lightning protector.

Close the panel door.

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the BATTERY switch.

4. Lightning Protector Installation Test______________________________________
A. General
(1)
This task is a short test to verify correct installation of the lightning protector. This test does not check for correct lightning protector operation. The test for lightning protector operation is located in Lightning Protector - Adjustment/Test (AMM 24-21-04/501).
(2)
Do the test for the lightning protector that were replaced. You do not need to do the tests for lightning protectors that were not replaced.

To test the installation of the lightning protector associated with the 115 VAC Bus 1, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Open these circuit breakers:
