Procedure


 S 012-011
 (1)  
Open the thrust reverser halves (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 (2)
Do this task: "Release the Pressure from the IDG Oil System".

 (3)  
Assemble the leak test equipment as shown in Fig. 201.

 (4)  
Set the shutoff valve, on the leak test equipment, to OFF.

 (5)  
Turn off the regulator valve on the leak test equipment to prevent to much pressure in the IDG case.

 (6)  
Remove the cover from the pressure fill coupling.

 (7)  
Connect the hose adapter of the leak test equipment to the pressure fill fitting.

 (8)  Connect the other end of the leak test equipment to a compressed air or a regulated nitrogen source.
 NOTE: If you use a regulated nitrogen source, the compressed

 air port must be sealed.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN 50 PSI. TOO MUCH PRESSURE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE IDG.
 (9)  
Turn the shutoff valve to ON and adjust the regulator to 25 psi.

 Turn the shutoff valve to OFF.


 NOTE: The pressure will decrease a small quantity, then the
____ pressure gauge will become stable at a constant value.

 If the pressure gauge continues to show smaller values, do as follows:

 (a)  
Visually examine the system for a leak.

 (b)  
If you do not find a leak, do a leak check with a leak detector fluid or a soap solution.

 (c)  
Do this task: " Release the Pressure from the IDG Oil System".

 (d)  
Repair the leaks you found and do the leak check again.

 Do this task: "Release the Pressure from the IDG Oil System".

 Disconnect the test equipment.

 (14)
 Add oil to the IDG, if it is necessary (AMM 12-13-07/301).

 (15)
 Install the cover on the pressure fill coupling.

 Close the thrust reverser halves (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 A.  This procedure contains the task to do an operational test of the generator drive system. The operational test also examines the integrated drive generator for the correct operation and disconnect.
 B.  You must operate the engines to do the operational test of the generator drive system.
