1) Permit the oil that drains from the hose to flow into the container. 2) Keep the free end of the hose below the level of the IDG.

WARNING:_______USE CAUTION WHEN YOU DRAIN THE IDG OIL. USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES. HOT OIL CAN CAUSE INJURIES.
(d) Remove the case drain plug (22) from the IDG (1) and let the oil flow into the container.
NOTE: Be prepared to catch 1 to 1.5 gallons US
____
(4 to 6 liters) of oil.
(e)
Remove and discard the O-ring (21) from the drain plug (22).
(f)
Disconnect the adapter and the oil outlet hose from the overflow drain coupling (37) on the IDG (1).
(g)
Install the cover (38) on the overflow drain coupling (37) for the IDG (1).
(h)
Lubricate a new O-ring (21) with engine oil.
1) Install the new O-ring (21) on the case drain plug (22) for the IDG (1).
(i)
Install the case drain plug (22) into the IDG (1).
1) Tighten the case drain plug for the IDG to a torque of 55-75 pound-inches (6.2-8.5 N.m).
(j)
Install a lockwire on the case drain plug (18).

Disconnect the electrical connectors DG19A (8) and DG19B (2) from the IDG.
(a)
Install a cover on the electrical plugs and receptacles.

Disconnect the generator power wires:
(a)
Remove the screws (9) and the washers (10) that hold the terminal block cover (7) and remove the cover.
(b)
Remove the terminal nuts (6) and washers (5) from the terminal block studs.
(c)
Make sure the fanning strip is not damaged or loose over the power feeder cables.
(d)
Make sure the power feeder cable phase heat shrinkable color sleeving are not damaged or missing.
(e)
If the fanning strip or phase color sleeving are damaged or missing, identify the generator power wires for the subsequent installation.
(f)
Disconnect the generator power wires (11) from the terminal studs.
(g)
If the color sleeves are damaged or not installed, install the sleeves (SWPM 20-10-14).
(h)
If the fanning strip is loose or damaged replace the fanning strip.
(i)
Install the terminal nuts (6) and washers (5) on the terminal studs.
(j)
Tighten the nuts with your fingers.

(k) Install the terminal block cover (7) with the screws (9) and the washers (10). 1) Tighten the screws with your fingers.

CAUTION: WHEN THE IDG OIL-OUT FLEX LINE IS REMOVED FROM THE FROM THE IDG
_______ OIL FITTING BOSS. DO NOT BEND OR FLEX THE OIL LINE SHARPLY UP AND OUT OF THE WAY. THIS CAN CAUSE OIL LEAKS OR HIGH IDG OIL BACK PRESSURE. THE FLEX LINE MAY BE REMOVED AND NOT FLEXED BACK DURING REMOVAL OF IDG.

Disconnect the oil-out tube (12) from the IDG (1).

Let the oil drain into the container.
