 8.  IDG Air/Oil Heat Exchanger Valve Override Pressure Switch (Fig. 1)

 A.  The IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve override pressure switch controls the 28-volt dc GCU signal input to the IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve.
 B.  The switch is mounted to the HPC secondary flow control valve and IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve override solenoid. The switch is a single-pole, double-throw type switch and is normally spring-loaded open. The switch is activated closed when 15th-stage HPC muscle pressure, supplied by the IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve override solenoid, reaches 75 psig. When the switch is closed, the IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve is controlled by the GCU. When the switch is open, the GCU logic is overridden and the IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve is controlled by EEC logic.
 9.  IDG Quick Attach-Detach Ring (Fig. 1)

 A.  The quick attach-detach (QAD) ring allows rapid installation and removal of the IDG to and from the engine main gearbox. The ring assembly includes a QAD ring and an adapter plate. The ring mates along the outside edge of the adapter plate, which is mounted to the main gearbox. An IDG mounting flange (on the IDG), mates the IDG with the QAD ring. The QAD ring secures the IDG in a breech-type lockup.

 (1)  The integrated drive generator (IDG) consists of an axial gear differential/hydraulic speed control section, and a generator section, mounted side-by-side in a single housing.
