D. Install the Breaker

(1)
Install the breaker:
(a)
Put the breaker in position on the applicable panel.
(b)
Install the four screws that attach the breaker to the panel.
(c)
Tighten the screws.

(2)
Connect the terminal leads to the breaker:
(a)
Remove the screws and terminal covers that are attached to the breaker.
(b)
Remove the six nuts and washers from the terminal block on the breaker.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT THE CORRECT TERMINAL LEAD TO EACH
_______ STUD ON THE CIRCUIT BREAKER. AN INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE BREAKER AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(c)
Connect the six terminal leads to the terminal block on the breaker.
CAUTION: INSTALL THE WASHERS BETWEEN THE TERMINAL LEADS AND THE NUTS. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE HEAT THAT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BREAKER.
(d)
Put a washer and a nut on terminal block.
(e)
Tighten the nuts to a torque of 120 | 5 pound-inches.
(f)
Install the terminal covers on the breaker.
(g)
Tighten the terminal cover screws to a torque of 8 - 11 pound-inch.

Supply external electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Prepare for the breaker test:
(a)
Make sure that the ISLN lights on the four BUS TIE switches, on panel P5, are off.
(b)
Set the four GEN CONT switches, on the P5 panel, to ON.
(c)
Make sure that the FIELD OFF lights for the APU generators 1 and 2, on the P461 panel, are off.
(d)
Set the BATTERY switch, on the P5 panel, to ON.
(e)
Set the STANDBY POWER switch, on the P5 panel, to AUTO.

(3)
If you replaced the auxiliary power breaker (APB), do a test of the APB.
(a)
Start the APU (Ref 49-11-00/201).
(b)
Let the APU operate for 90 seconds.
(c)
Make sure the AVAIL lights on the APU GEN 1 and 2 switches, on the P5 panel, are on.
(d)
Push the APU GEN 1 and 2 switches, on the P5 panel, to ON.
