CAUTION:_______ DO NOT HOLD THE HEAT EXCHANGER AND VALVE ASSEMBLY BY THE INLET
COLLAR. THE INLET COLLAR IS NOT A STRUCTURAL PART OF THE VALVE
HOUSING. THE INLET COLLAR CAN BREAK AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE
HEAT EXCHANGER AND VALVE ASSEMBLY.

Install the heat exchanger (23) and the valve (6) assembly in it's correct position on the intermediate case.
(a)
Make sure that the inboard slots in the valve inlet collar align with the four bolts (4) in the intermediate case.

(9) Lubricate the threads on the four bolts (1 and 2) with engine oil.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE THE SHORTER BOLTS (THE SAME ONES THAT
_______ YOU REMOVED) TO HOLD THE BRACKETS (UPPER AND LOWER) TO THE HEAT EXCHANGER AND THE VALVE. IF YOU USE THE INCORRECT BOLTS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HEAT EXCHANGER AND THE VALVE.

Install the (upper) bracket (24) to the heat exchanger (23) and the bracket on the intermediate case with the four bolts (1 and 2).
(a)
Tighten the bolts with your fingers.

Lubricate the threads on the four bolts (1 and 2) with engine oil.

Install the (lower) bracket (7) to the heat exchanger (23) and the bracket on the intermediate case.

Tighten the bolts with your fingers.

Lubricate the threads on the two bolts (4) with engine oil.

Connect the bracket on the forward side of the valve to the intermediate case with the two bolts (4) and the washers (3).

Tighten the bolts with your fingers.

ENGINES WITH SB PW4ENG 79-60; Attach the valve inlet collars to the rear of the intermediate case as follows:
(a)
Lubricate the bolt threads with engine oil, and install the four outboard bolts and washers in the outboard holes.
(b)
Hand tighten the four inboard bolts that were installed previously.

(c) Hand tighten the four outboard bolts.

ENGINES WITH SB PW4ENG 79-60; Attach the valve inlet collars to the rear of the intermediate case as follows:
(a)
Lubricate the threads of the four bolt and washer assemblies with engine oil.
(b)
Install the four bolt and washer assemblies in the outboard bolt holes.
(c)
Hand tighten the four inboard bolt and washer assemblies that were installed previously.
(d)
Hand tighten the four outboard bolt and washer assemblies.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU ADJUST THE TORQUE WRENCH VALUE, WHEN YOU USE
_______ THE PWA 85853 TORQUE ADAPTER (AMM 70-50-00/201). IF YOU TIGHTEN THE BOLTS WITH TOO MUCH TORQUE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BOLTS, THE HEAT EXCHANGER, OR THE ENGINE.
(17) Tighten the bolts/bolt assemblies (1, 2, and 4) that you installed, to a torque of 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 N.m).
NOTE: Use the PWA 85853 torque adapter to tighten the four
____ inboard bolts (4). The inboard bolts hold the inboard side of the inlet collar to the intermediate case.

Do these steps to install the oil-out tube (21):
(a)
Lubricate the threads of the three bolts (19) with engine oil.
(b)
Install the oil-out tube (21), and the swivel collar (20) on the heat exchanger (23) with the three bolts (19).
(c)
Tighten the three bolts (19) to a torque 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 N.m).
(d)
Install a lockwire on the three bolts (19).
(e)
Connect the tube coupling nut, that is adjacent to the swivel collar (20), to the oil-out tube (21).
