Measure the torque on the tension bolt.

If the torque is more than 180 pound-inches (20.3 N.m.), tighten the bolt to 240-264 pound-inches (27.1-29.8 N.m.).
(e)
If the torque is less than 180 pound-inches (20.3 N.m.), do these steps: 1) Tighten the tension bolt to 240-264 pound-inches (27.1-29.8
N.m.).
2) Tap the QAD ring again and measure the torque on the tension bolt. Continue tapping and tightening the tension bolt until the torque does not drop below 180 pound-inches
(20.3 N.m.) after tapping the QAD ring.
3) Tighten the tension bolt to a torque of 240-264 pound-inches (27.1-29.8 N.m.).
(f)
Install lockwire on the tension bolt.

Close the left thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Measure the distance between the ring lug and the bracket on the QAD ring.
NOTE: The distance from the center of the QAD tension nuts can be

NOTE: The plug gage can be used to measure the .562 inch distance.

The plug gage can be used to make sure the QAD gap is not smaller than the minimum distance. 1) Grasp the plug gage flats. Use the thumb and fore finger
to hold the gage in the QAD.
(b)
If the distance is greater than 0.562 inch (14.28 mm) or 1.75 inch (44.45mm), the QAD ring is satisfactory.
NOTE: The distance 1.75 inch is measured from the center of
