(1)
To install a new IDG (1), do these steps:
(a)
Remove the caps (covers) from the oil-in port and the oil-out port.
(b)
Lubricate a new O-ring (4) with engine oil.
(c)
Install the new O-ring (4) on the oil-out union (13).

Install the oil-out union (13) into the oil-out port of the IDG (1). 1) Tighten the oil-out union from 665 to 735 pound-inches.
(e)
Lubricate a new O-ring with engine oil.
(f)
Install the O-ring (45) on the oil-in union (44).
(g)
Install the oil-in union (44) into the oil-in port of the IDG (1). 1) Tighten the oil-in union from 855 to 945 pound-inches.
(h)
Install the mounting bracket (43) for the pressure fill coupling (40) and the overflow drain coupling (37) to the oil-in union (44).
(i)
Install the jamnut (41) and the washer (42) on the mounting bracket. 1) Tighten the jamnut (41).
(j)
Install the nuts (35) and the washer (36) on the lower part of the mounting bracket (43) that holds the pressure fill and the overflow drain couplings.
(k)
Lubricate a new O-ring (23) with engine oil.
(l)
Install the O-ring (23) on the pressure fill union (24).
(m)
Remove the cover from the pressure fill port.
(n)
Install the pressure fill union (24).
1) Tighten the union from 257 to 273 pound-inches.
(o)
Connect and tighten the elbow (26) that holds the pressure fill tube (25) to the union (24).
(p)
Connect the elbow (26) that holds the pressure fill tube (25) to the pressure fill coupling (40). 1) Tighten the pressure fill coupling from 257 to 273
pound-inches.
(q)
Lubricate a new O-ring (29) with engine oil.
(r)
Install the O-ring on the overflow drain union (30).
(s)
Remove the cover from the overflow drain port.
(t)
Install the overflow drain union (30).
1) Tighten the overflow drain union from 475 to 525 pound-inches.
(u)
Connect and tighten the elbow (31) that holds the overflow drain tube (32) to the union (30).
(v)
Connect the elbow (31) that holds the overflow drain tube (32) to the overflow drain coupling (37). 1) Tighten the overflow drain coupling from 475 to 525
pound-inches.

Examine the QAD ring (46) for damage (AMM 24-11-08/601).

Use engine oil to lubricate the threads of the tension bolt on the QAD ring (46).

Lubricate a new O-ring (47) with engine oil.
(a)
Install the new O-ring (47) on the on IDG (1) input shaft.
