 o)  If the sample turns cloudy or grey the water content in the IDG oil is too high. Flush the IDG and the IDG cooling system with oil (AMM 12-22-07/301).
 p) Replace the scavenge filter (AMM 24-11-04/401). q) Run the engine until the IDG oil temperature reaches
 175 degrees F. r) Drain the oil. s) Replace the scavenge filter (AMM 24-11-04/401). t) Service the IDG (AMM 12-13-07/301).

 4.  Check the IDG Pressure Oiler (Service Fitting) and Pressure Cover (Fig 602)

Prepare for Examination

 (1)
Open the left thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 S 216-040

 (2)
Do this step to examnine the pressure caps.

 (a)
Make sure the pressure cap has no oil leaking from the cap.


 NOTE: If the pressure cap has oil leaking from the cap, the
____ pressure oiler must be replaced.
 (b) Do the following to examine the pressure cap:
 CAUTION: DO NOT PULL ON THE LAYNARD OR SPLIT RING TO REMOVE THE
_______ CAP. PULL ON THE OUTER COVER TO REMOVE THE CAP. DAMAGE TO THE SPLIT RING OR LAYNARD WILL OCCUR.
 1)  Remove the pressure cap.
 2)  Examine the pressure cap O-ring for cuts, nicks or a hard O-ring. a) If damage to the O-ring is found, replace the O-ring.
 3)  Examine the ball bearings in the cap and the bore of the cap for cuts, nicks gouges or missing bearings. a) If damage to the pressure cap bore is found, replace
 the cap. 4) Clean the oil from the inside of the cap with Isporopyl alcohol. Dry the cap with dry compressed air or nitrogen.
