 6.  IDG Fuel/Oil Cooler (Fig. 1)

 A.  The fuel/oil cooler serves to remove heat from the IDG oil. The fuel/oil cooler consists of a tube and shell assembly in a single housing with a common fuel passage and two separate oil passages to service both the IDG oil system and the engine oil system. Hot oil flows from the oil-in port, through the shell of the cooler to the oil-out port. At the same time fuel travels from the fuel-in port, through tubes in the shell, to the fuel-out port. The fuel flow through the tubes removes the heat from oil flowing through the shell (and around the fuel tubes). The fuel/oil cooler is mounted on the high pressure compressor case (HPC) at the 9 o'clock position. For addition information on the fuel/oil cooler (AMM 79-21-00/001).
 7.  IDG Air/Oil Heat Exchanger Valve Override Solenoid (Fig. 1)

 A.  The IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve override solenoid, which is controlled by the EEC, provides pneumatic servo pressure to activate the IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve override pressure switch.
 B.  The solenoid is part of a common valve housing with the HPC secondary flow control valve solenoid. The solenoid is a dual coil solenoid that is energized by 28-volt dc signal from the EEC. With the solenoid energized, 15th-stage HPC muscle pressure is supplied to the IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve override pressure switch causing the switch to close. The IDG air/oil heat exchanger valve override solenoid and switch assembly are mounted on the intermediate case aft face at the 1 o'clock position.
